How It Works: Online Training for PDUs

The PACE 1 online training course subscription plans are a convenient way to access self-paced online courses 24/7 (except for any scheduled maintenance).  The courses include audio that can be turned on and off, and the ability to print the informational contents of each course.

How It Works - Details

  1. With your paid subscription, proceed to login at www.pointadvantage.com
  2. Click on  your logon/access link to the training system
  3. Review the Getting Started Tutorial posted in the online training center
  4. Select, launch and play a course
  5. Work through each lesson starting at the top of the Course Menu
  6. Tests with 4-5 questions follow each lesson
  7. Score  70% or better to pass  each course (re-take tests as many times as needed)
  8. Get completion certificates in real-time from your Training Dashboard
  9. Instructions for reporting PDUs are posted (for those who need to)
  10. Take another course!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are your online project management training courses approved by PMI® for PDUs and contact hours?

As an approved Global PMI® Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.), Point Advantage is authorized to award contact hours and PDUs for all online courses. Completion certificates are automatically generated and posted to your  Course Completions  page in the training center upon successful completion of each course. All courses included in this plan can be used as part of CAPM® , PMP® , and PgMP® exam eligibility and recertification purposes. For those individuals holding the PMP® credential, all PDUs earned get reported in Category  A  (where there are no limits like other PDU reporting categories).

What is the difference between the PACE 1: 60 PDUs and PACE 1: UNLIMITED online PDU training subscription plans?

The PACE 1: 60 PDU online PDU training subscription plan includes 18 courses in Leadership (9), Team Leading (3), Risk Management (5), and Six Sigma (1) and awards a total of 60 PDUs by completing all 18 courses, where PDUs are earned separately for each of the 18 courses. The PACE 1: UNLIMITED online PDU training subscription plan includes all 18 online PDU courses of the PACE 1: 60 PDUs plan plus 12 additional online PDU courses in Six Sigma (6), and Outsourcing (6), for a total of 30 online courses that give you the largest selection to earn all the PDUs online you need at Point Advantage. So if you need to earn a large number of PDUs to maintain your PMP® credential, either of these online PDU training subscription are perfect for meeting the PMI® PMP® continuing education PDU requirements.

Can I use more than one computer?

Yes.

How long will it take me to complete each course?

Budget the same amount of time that is earned for a course. If a course is pre-determined to award 5 hours, budget 5 hours of effort. Your actual time could be slightly higher or lower than the pre-determined PDU value for the course.

What type of online format is used to present each course?

All courses drive off a menu driven structure that keeps track of your progress through a course. Courses include content, situational and role-playing scenarios, pre-tests (which are optional and we recommend skipping them), and post-lesson tests. Often, there are anywhere from 3-7 lessons in a single course. The informational content (excludes quizzes, tests, simulations) of each course can be printed or saved for offline and future reference.

Is the format like a Web-based CBT where I can start, stop and pick up where I stopped?

Yes. The system automatically "bookmarks" where you stop, allowing you to return later without having to remember a specific lesson, slide, or test.

What do I need to do to pass each course?

Complete the lessons, any situational or role-playing exercises, post-lesson tests, and achieve a course score of 70% or better. Retake tests to improve scores beyond the passing requirement. When you have passed the course, completion certificates are automatically generated and immediately available. Additional instructions on how to properly claim the PDUs within minutes at the PMI® website are also posted in the Report PDUs menu link in the online training center.

Does my subscription plan automatically renew at the expiration date?

No. Plans can be renewed in increments of 90, 180, or 365 days before, when or after the current plan expiresat a significantly discounted price. See the Renewals Offer button on Dashboard after logging into www.pointadvantage.com to review renewal offers available (based on subscriptions purchased) and order renewals.

When I order a subscription plan online now, will there be any separate or hidden fees?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! The subscription price you pay covers online training center access and usage for all courses included in the plan selected and for the time period selected. There are NO separate per course fees charged, NO additional access fees, NO completion certificate issuance fees, and NO additional books to purchase (for the PACE courses).

What operating system and browser types do the online courses play?

Windows operating system is a must (2000 and higher), where Internet Explorer 8+ is recommended. Alternate browsers include: Firefox 3.6 or higher and Chrome 4 or higher. PACE Courses are NOT compatible for MAC users. ACHIEVE courses ARE compatible for MAC users.

What other software may I need to play the courses?

The most recent version of Java is required for the PACE online courses.

Are the courses included in the PACE I online PDU course series available on CD and compatible with mobile devices?

No. All students login at our website and must be connected to the internet to play and use the online courses.

I am really interested in your PACE I online PDU course series. Do you accept checks if my company is located in the USA?

Please call or email us to start the process to pay via check if located within the United States. Alternatively, we have added online ordering functionality where a company representative (BUYER) can purchase a subscription plan on behalf of an employee using a corporate credit card. Yes. You can get started immediately, complete courses at your pace, and quickly do the PMI® reporting step as needed when completion certificates automatically post to your training panel.
